Cabbagetown Cleanup Continues Sunday, July 19th, 2009 at 10 AM at the Jet Fuel Cafe’

iStock_000004459519XSmallThanks for your help over the past few weeks. Parliament Street is looking good and it is a great feeling to be out there with your neighbors on Community projects. This weekend Kathy Goulding will be meeting you at the JetFuel Cafe’ on Sunday at 10 AM. I am travelling to Vancouver to meet my recently born great-nephew but will be back for the following weekend.

I have been asked if we were Scab: My thought is that when citizens take responsibility for the streets that they walk on everyday, how can that make us scabs? If we were 3rd parties getting paid by the City that would make us Scab…however these are our streets and we walk on them everyday.

Even when the Strike ends maybe we will take responsibility when we see someone littering the street. Until then, we will be meeting Sundays at 10 AM at the Jet Fuel Cafe’ on Parliament Street. Nice to see our MPP George Smitherman taking to the streets as well!! Now run for Mayor, George!!

  1. ANITA BILLING

Richard you are fantastic at getting people to pitch in and clean up Parliament Street…You should be on
the news showing how to clean up the streets..and get
other people to do the same.. Everyone has asked George if he is doing this to get votes and he said no. SO ENJOY VANCOUVER WITH YOUR GRAND NEPHEW..LOOK
FORWARD TO SEEING YOU BACK ON PARLIAMENT ST WHEN YOU
    GET BACK.
