Richard Silver’s Downtown Toronto Blog

Just now sitting and listening to George O'Neill  as he talks about the power of  BRAND at the Social Media Marketing Summit  out in the east end of Toronto. When you talk of brand it is hard not to think about STARBUCKS and APPLE: the attendees made lots of comments about the staff in each store, the positive atmosphere, the ability to tailor make the product for the consumer...but at the end of the day it is really excellent customer service...Continue Reading...

My New Favourite City in America!!! San Diego!!

Richard Silver’s Downtown Toronto Blog

We just got back from a Conference in the United States and hands down my new favourite City in North America is San Diego. It is not overly large, has Hills, Ocean, Islands (Coronado), Suburbs (La Jolla), a great restored Downtown (the Gaslamp District) that is actually walkable, an Airport within a $10.00 taxi ride to the Downtown, and a kick-ass San Diego Zoo...(Sea World was just OK)... but the San Diego Zoo was great experience. (more...)Continue Reading...

Carl Orbach QC, LLB, BA Mayor of Cabbagetown and a lovely man!

Richard Silver’s Downtown Toronto Blog

Very Sad News for Cabbagetown. A strong supporter of the Cabbagetown Community and all around good guy passed away yesterday and will be buried tomorrow. For years he led the Old Cabbagetown Business Improvement Area and worked tirelessly for the Community. Sadly since retiring a couple of years ago, he has been ill. Even through the pain, he had a great laugh and loved a good story. There are and will be few of the caliber of Carl Orbach...sleep well wonderful...Continue Reading...
