Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore….

….don’t know where I have been, but here I am, almost six weeks into a renovation and having thrown out three sets of doors and an old skylight and now I find out about ReStores, a division of Habitat for Humanity, long time supported by The Toronto Real Estate Board . The ReStores web site says:

“Habitat for Humanity ReStores are building supply stores that accept and resell quality new and used building materials. They generate funds to support Habitat’s building programs, while reducing the amount of used materials that are headed for overflowing landfills! They are an environmentally friendly store that makes sense!”

The number of times I have thrown out old kitchens and bathrooms not knowing that there was a group out there that would recycle what I was paying to have picked up and sent to the dump….and at the same time helping out a good cause…..Check out their web site but here are some stores in the Toronto area that you might want to check out.
