Susan’s Most Amazing Rib Recipe
There are times when this blog must deal with really important issues and this is one of them: FOOD!! My friend Susan, a great cook, but also a dynamite Business woman ( those are not divergent in one person, however, I digress)...is known far and wide for her Award Winning Rib Recipe. I have made it a couple of times at home, though it seems daunting at first, the most difficult part is getting all the spices together for the rub...Continue Reading...

Let’s Make 2009, The Year Of The Referral!!
If the Pundits are right, 2009 is going to be a tough year. The predictions are for Recession/Depression in all sectors of the economy. There may be lots of people in tough situations but keep positive and when times get tough, move that positivety into high gear. Sitting around and waiting for the phone to ring never works, so try this: When friends or neighbors (more...)Continue Reading...
For Real Estate, This Year’s Colour is “GREEN”.
It seems as if every time I open my mail, emails, newspaper, TV, radio etc. there is more movement on "GREEN" issues. I do support the GREEN movement even though I own an SUV (remember I work from home and my commute is from my bedroom to my office...also small cars look funny with the For Sale Signs hanging out the back window). When we bought our new house, we upgraded the perfectly good 60% efficiency Furnace, washer and dryer, (more...)Continue Reading...
Toronto Real Estate: Riverdale…It’s All About The Food!
Almost 30 years ago, I began my Realtor career at an office which Bosley Real Estate owns at 169 Danforth Avenue. In those days it was Terry Martel Real Estate, and my first few years were cutting my teeth in Prime Riverdale and Leslieville, although we called it Cabbagetown II at the time, a tribute to the number of Victorian Houses found south of Gerrard.. It’s Never to Late to Learn to Sail…or Blog??
Recently, at a Conference in Quebec City where we spent a day on Web 2.0 and it's relevance in today's Real Estate market, I overheard a comment in a break that went something like "oh, this stuff is way above me, I'm 58 years old, you know". As someone who is older than 58, I find it sad when someone uses age as an excuse for not learning. (more...)Continue Reading...
Toronto’s Wake Up Call:”What Week Is This?”
No matter what part of the GTA you live in, there is one morning a week when you can hear that refrain in every home: "Garbage Day!! What week is this?" Nothing gets you scurrying to the windows faster than to see what the neighbors have put out; Recycling, Garbage and is it leaf day? What if the neighbors are wrong? The Leaves can sit there for a month! Usually someone heads to the kitchen drawer where the calendar was last seen...it's not...Continue Reading...
At Xmas: REALTORS Like to Party Too!!
Not that I'm complaining, but I'm constantly amazed by the number of people who stop me in the street at any time in the day or night and assume that "How's the real estate market?" is another way of saying, "How are you?" or "Wassup?" I'm a Realtor, yet for many friends, clients and ad readers, I am the keeper of information that has become too much of a bell weather for their financial health. When I give my answers, I...Continue Reading...
