Spring is here and the Winchester School Community Fun Fair is coming up!
Toronto Real Estate: Riverdale: It’s all about the food and shopping.
Thirty years ago, I began my realtor career at an office on the Danforth . In those days it was the newest up-and-coming area, and my first few years were spent cutting my teeth in prime Riverdale and Leslieville , although we called it Cabbagetown Two at the time — a tribute to the number of Victorian houses found south of Gerrard. The housing closer to the Danforth tends to be mostly Edwardian in design but the homes are larger and on...Continue Reading...

Toronto Real Estate: What smells?
Years as a Realtor gives you a really sensitive nose. The other day I was showing an apartment, walked in and was amazed that the condominium had been brought to the market smelling of smoke. My clients noticed it right away and were concerned that to get rid of the odor would require new carpet, new paint and there would be no guarantee that those options would be successful. When the listing agent called to ask my client's reaction to the...Continue Reading...
Toronto Real Estate: Spring Market 2011
It happens every year and this January, February and March are no different. It has been incredibly busy with a real shortage of Central Toronto listings. We have seen multiple offers galore as Buyers compete and most house-proud Sellers wait till April-May to put their houses on the market. Of course, Realtors who encourage their Sellers to list during this really busy period are looked on as being self-serving. However, when you look at the yearly stats in Central Toronto you will...Continue Reading...

TORONTO NEIGHBOURHOOD IN FOCUS: DON MILLS
For both implants like me and born-and-bred denizens of Toronto, the new Shops at Don Mills must be like déjà vu repeating itself. If you haven’t visited yet, go spend a few hours enjoying the high-end stores, restaurants, outdoor music, outdoor skating rinks, fountains and distinctly US shopping experience. The detailed history that appears on the website is really amazing. In the early ’50s, industrialist E.P. Taylor decided to build a town, a planned community, on 200 acres in what is...Continue Reading...

Each year we look forward to a presentation by N. Barry Lyons and Jasmine Cracknell . They are consultants to the development industry and follow the planning, building and sales of new building in the Toronto. Here is there most recent presentation about the surprising year 2010 turned out...Continue Reading...
