Festival season is upon us, bringing iconic events like Toronto Carnival, Fringe festival or Summerlicious. If you are ready for some weekend fun in the city, take a look at our special summer events, that will entertain you despite the rising temperatures.
Canada Day Fireworks
When: July 1
Where: Canada’s Wonderland
Enjoy Canada Day with 70 awesome rides, including the new exciting Yukon Striker and then watch the amazing fireworks display in celebration of Canada Day. For approximately 15 minutes, you will be allowed to enjoy a one-of-a-kind firework show with custom music and design, making Canada day an unforgettable experience for your whole family.
Toronto Fringe Festival
When: July 3- 14
Where: Various venues across Toronto
The Fringe Festival is one of the biggest world-wide theatre festivals. Celebrating in various cities across the world, Fringe brings the joy of theatre and improvisation to millions of people. Toronto Fringe Festival will include performances of 150 indie shows at the Scadding Court Community Centre – the hub of the festival and many more venues.
Toronto Caribbean Carnival
When: July 3 – August 3
Where: Various locations across Toronto
Don’t miss the explosion of diversity Toronto has to offer during its Carnival month. A beloved 50-year-old tradition – Toronto Carnival is every summer the main event of Toronto’s festival season. With a month filled with Carribean music, worldwide cuisine and both visual and performing arts, the celebrations will climax August 3rd, with the big Carnival Grand Parade at Exhibition Place and Lakeshore.

Popular bi-annual Toronto foodie event is back with its Summerlicious version this July. During the month, you can make a reservation in more than 200 restaurants across Toronto for a special three-course Prix-fix menu containing the best samplings of Toronto’s worldwide cuisine. This year, the Toronto History Museum is also introducing their new culinary event Toronto’s Table, that will introduce you to Toronto’s diverse food history.
Wine Fest Toronto
When: July 5-6
Where: Don Mills Town Square
Come celebrate all things wine this month! Toronto finally has it’s own outdoor wine festival. Lovers of wine can come to taste several gems, enjoy live music and participate in wine-related workshops. If you have your pairing and tasting down to perfection, you can be there during presenting the Best Wine awards during this two-day celebration.
Queen + Adam Lambert
When: July 28
Where: Scotiabank Arena
After the big success of the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, new and old Queen fans are coming to the light, to celebrate the iconic band. Two original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor, teaming up once more with longtime frontman Adam Lambert are returning to North America, to satisfy their audience’s need for the original songs performed once more. July 28 is their date set for performance in Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, so you better not miss it!
